Troodos Tour – beautiful villages and waterfall

Cyprus is known to many as a great holiday island with beautiful beaches and many party possibilities. But Cyprus has much more to offer, also in terms of nature. If you want to get to know the island from a completely different side, you should definitely plan a day for the Troodos Mountains.

The mountains take up almost a third of the island and are considered the green heart with an incredible number of hidden villages, waterfalls, sunken church, ancient sites and much more.

What awaits you in any case:

Depending on where we meet or pick you up, our journey to the Troodos Mountains will take us along the coast for a while, then up into the mountains. Whenever there is something worth seeing, we will make a short stop, so as the sunken church of Alassa, before reaching our first destination, the Millomeris Waterfall. If you like, you can also take a refreshing dip in the water here.
A few minutes‘ drive downstream, in the middle of a natural forest, we discover a medieval bridge, the perfect backdrop for some photos that will also serve as a reminder that Cyprus is anything but barren. A little further on, we stop at a small lake, also immersed in nature. You can discover water birds and other forest dwellers here.

After our excursion into the natural beauty of the Troodos, we drive along narrow roads that take us into the wine region of the mountains. In Omodos we make our next stop. Omodos is the only mountain village with a large town square in the middle. Here we find small shops selling delicacies from the region, such as honey, fruit, typical bread and fruit. In the village we also find a monastery and an ancient wine press, which gives an insight into how wine was pressed in those days. Linen embroidery, silversmithing and glassblowing are also traditional in Troodos villages. This is also the case in Omodos. Here it is also time to have lunch and fortify yourself, because afterwards we invite you to a wine tasting in a winery. You are welcome to try everything and find your favourite, because liqueur and the typical Cyprus brandy, the clear Zirvania, are not taboo either. Who knows, maybe the ride back from here to your hotel will be fun too.

• We will pick you up at your hotel or arrange a meeting point with you. We will then take you on a tour to Troodos Mountains, without the stress, hectic pace and time pressure of other guests. Of course, we will not forget to show you some of the really interesting places to take pictures. We’ll find out what really interests and excites you. So our tour with you is very personal. Don’t worry, we won’t tell you any novels about the history, we’ll just give you some information and give you time to take in the impressions and / or take photos. • Before we start the return journey to your hotel, we invite you to a local winery including a wine tasting near the village of Omodos, where you can enjoy a typical wines from Cyprus and other delicious products. Including our tour you find for free soft drinks, snacks and sandwiches. If you prefer not to eat meat, vegetarian or vegan options are also available.
• We will pick you up at your hotel at 9:00. If you want to visit churches, you must be dressed appropriately to enter the interior. Knees and shoulders covered, a big scarf sometimes helps the ladies a lot. We will not be doing any extended hikes, but suitable shoes for outdoor activities and a hat to protect against the sun are recommended.
  All in all, the tour lasts between 6 and 7 hours, it depends on you, because this event is only for you and your family, partner or friends that you book in.
